Pray the Word
Healing
A Scripture prayer reference library on God’s healing, restoration, mercy, and ultimate wholeness in Christ.
Healing in Scripture includes God’s revealed compassion, His covenant mercy, Christ’s healing ministry, the prayer of the church, and the final restoration when pain and death are no more. This topic gathers direct promises, healing narratives, prayer passages, and apostolic instruction so believers can study carefully and pray faithfully.
Use this topic both devotionally and as a reference library. Not every passage functions in the same way, so the Scriptures are grouped to help users distinguish promises, examples, and instructions.
God as Healer (1)
...for I am the LORD who heals you.
Healing Promises (3)
But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities... and with his wounds we are healed.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more... neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore...
Healing and the Prayer of the Church (1)
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him... And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick...
Healing in the Ministry of Jesus (1)
...He cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah...
Short Prayer
Lord, You are the healer of Your people. Bring mercy, strength, and restoration according to Your Word, and let Your peace sustain me while I wait on You.
Extended Prayer
Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You revealed Yourself as the Lord who heals, and Your Son bore our griefs and carried our sorrows. Strengthen what is weak, restore what is broken, and let Your peace guard heart and mind. Give grace in suffering, faith in waiting, and hope in the resurrection where pain and death will be no more.
- The Lord is my healer.
- Christ is my peace in weakness and in strength.
- God is able to sustain, restore, and uphold me.
- My ultimate hope is in the resurrection and the kingdom to come.
