Faith

Faith is trusting reliance on God and His promises, centered in Jesus Christ.

Saving faith is personal trust in Jesus Christ, receiving Him and resting upon Him for salvation as He is offered in the gospel.

Explanation

Faith is more than mental agreement. It includes knowledge, assent, and trust. Biblical faith lays hold of God’s promise in Christ and continues in persevering reliance upon Him.
