Holiness of God

God is utterly holy, morally pure, and distinct from all creation and sin.

Formal Definition

The holiness of God refers to His absolute moral purity and His complete otherness, majesty, and separateness from evil.

Explanation

God’s holiness is not one attribute among many. It permeates all His attributes. His love is holy love, His justice is holy justice, and His presence exposes sin while also calling His people into consecrated life.
