Sovereignty of God

God’s sovereignty means He reigns supreme over creation, history, rulers, and redemption.

The sovereignty of God is His unrivaled kingly authority and effective rule over all things according to His wise and holy will.

Key Scriptures

Daniel 4:34–35
Ephesians 1:11

Explanation

To confess God’s sovereignty is to confess that history is not finally governed by chance, chaos, or hostile powers. God rules wisely and purposefully. His sovereignty does not make human action unreal, but situates creaturely responsibility within His ultimate reign.
